Thanks to all the volunteers, teachers and performers who made this years Winter concert such a great success!
It was yet another show of extraordinary student talent, supported by the most enthusiastic and supportive audience ever. Some of the performances will be posted on this site in due course.
We will not be having another committee meeting this term, so relax and enjoy the upcoming school hols. The next committee meeting will be in term 3 in the regular time slot. Date to be posted here soon.
See you in term 3!
I’m sure you are all looking forward to our Winter Concert this Wednesday and Thursday evening.
Remember to bring entry fees ($10 for adults, $5 children, $20 family), and keep some change aside for intermission goodies and raffle tickets.
This years raffle includes the traditional beautiful Chocolate and Gourmet hampers as well as:
- Two pairs of Opening Night tickets to Oliver!, courtesy of Stage Artz Theatre Company (one pair will be raffled each night)
- Two VIP tickets to the The Voice, including back stage tour, (Wednesday only).
Looking forward to seeing you there!
As you all know, the Drama Committee is hosting the Mid-Year Concert coming up on the 18th and 19th of June. As always, we are raffling off two hampers for each evening of the event. The raffle is an important and entertaining tradition at these events.
Raffle Donations – Years 7 and 8
Traditionally, all year 7 and 8 drama parents supply donations for our raffle hampers. Please send in with your child a chocolate or gourmet food item – drop off in the Performing-Arts Staffroom by Friday 13th June. If you don’t have a year 7 or 8 child in drama, don’t let that hold you back – all donations greatly appreciated.
For anyone able and willing to provide baked goodies (sweet or savoury), to be sold in the intermission, you will be able to drop them off in the canteen area anytime from 6 pm on either night of the concerts.
Special Drama Committee Meeting Tonight
Finally, a reminder that we have our drama committee early this month for final planning around the mid year concert. 6.30 tonight (10th June) in the foyer. All welcome.
Next weeks drama committee meeting has a fairly full agenda, as we’ll be making plans for the Mid Year Concert in June. Please have a look at the Agenda and come along or send us an email if you think you can help.
Look forward to seeing you there: Tuesday 13th May at 6.30.
Calling all Drama Parents!
The Drama Committee hosts the mid-year concert, meaning volunteer parents of Drama students from all years will be selling tickets and providing raffle prizes and refreshments.
The mid year concert is coming up (June 18th and 19th), and we’re starting our preparations.
We need volunteers to help us run things on the night, as well as donations for our intermission raffle (something performing-arts related would be favourite), and baked goods to sell on the two nights.
Please come to our next committee meeting on Tuesday the 13th of May, at 6.30 if you would be able to help out in some way. Or leave us a reply right here if you think you could volunteer something but can’t be at the meeting next week.
Two highlights of the Mosman High School year are the winter and end of year concerts. These are held in terms two and four, each performance spanning two days. All Mosman High students are eligible to audition for these shows. Audition times and details will be communicated to the students by the MHS staff.
These are extremely popular events, guaranteed to be standing room only. They are packed with a wide variety of music, drama and dance performances, running back to back to the enthusiastic support and encouragement of fellow students, family and friends. The programme consists exclusively of MHS students, with the assistance of the talented MHS Entertainment crew. Whether you are an aspiring performer, and old hand, or prefer to be in the audience, come along and enjoy the talents of our wonderful students and the great atmosphere that our concert nights are famous for.
Here is a selection of performances from previous concerts, taken by friends and family. Enjoy!
